Join us for an interesting and informative meeting on May 21. Coffee served at 10:30am and the meeting begins promptly at 11:00am in the Coronado Library’s Wynn Room.
This program will be of interest to anyone who drives a car, takes a bus or trolley, rides a bicycle or walks anywhere in San Diego County – in other words everyone. Our featured speaker will be Charles “Muggs” Stoll, Director of Land Use and Transportation planning for the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) in San Diego, California.
The 18 cities and county government are SANDAG, the San Diego Association of Governments. This public agency serves as the forum for regional decision-making. SANDAG builds consensus; makes strategic plans; obtains and allocates resources; plans, engineers, and builds public transportation, and provides information on a broad range of topics pertinent to the region’s quality of life. SANDAG is governed by a Board of Directors, composed of mayors, council members, and county supervisors from each of the region’s 19 local governments. Councilmember Carrie Downey is Coronado’s member of the SANDAG Board of Directors.
The scheduled subject of Mr. Stoll’s presentation will be the recently approved 40 years regional plan known as San Diego Forward: The Regional Plan. However, the Board of Directors is considering a potential expenditure plan which, if approved, would be of timely interest to our membership and may supplement or supplant the originally scheduled program. Please join us for this current and interesting discussion.
