THE BURDEN is the first documentary of its kind to tell the story of our dependence on fossil fuels as the greatest long­term national security threat confronting the U.S, and how the military is leading our transition away from oil. The troops are crying out, in the words of Gen. James Mattis, “to unleash us from the tether of fuel.” But is Congress listening?

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the film starting at 7:00 p.m. (running time 40 minutes) followed immediately by a panel discussion and Q & A, likely lasting 20 to 30 minutes.

Panelists include: Rear Admiral (ret.) Len Hering Executive Director of Center for Sustainable Energy, former Gunnery Officer and Nuclear Engineering Officer Andrea Marr and Mark Reynolds, Executive Director of Citizens Climate Lobby.
